In order to minimize contamination, standard high-vacuum techniques are recommended when handling ETP Electron Multipliers. Clean, powder-free gloves or finger cots should be worn to prevent the transfer of skin oils to critical or mounting surfaces of the multiplier. All tools, mountings, and equipment should be thoroughly cleaned prior to coming in contact with the multiplier.
為了減少污染，在ETP電子倍增器操作時(shí)推薦使用合乎標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的高真空技術(shù)。要戴上干凈無塵的手套或手指套來防止皮膚油脂污染倍增器的核心或是安裝表面。所有(用到)的工具，配件和設(shè)備在接觸到倍增器之前都必須徹底清洗。
Care should also be taken to minimize exposure of the multiplier to dust or other airborne contamination.
維護(hù)(操作)時(shí)要注意盡量(采取)減少將倍增器暴露在灰塵和其它空氣污染(的環(huán)境中的機(jī)會(huì))。
Dust particles within the detector may result in increased background noise during operation.

Exposure of the multiplier to high humidity should be avoided in order to minimize outgassing during initial operation. If the multiplier exhibits excessive noise due to adsorbed moisture, this condition may be rectified by either leaving the multiplier in high vacuum for about 24 hours, or by using a simple vacuum bake procedure.
為了使啟動(dòng)操作的脫氣(時(shí)間)達(dá)到最小，應(yīng)該盡量避免將倍增器暴露于高溫度(的環(huán)境中)。如果由于吸附了濕氣而使倍增器出現(xiàn)噪音過大(的現(xiàn)象)，需要將倍增器高真空(條件)下約24小時(shí)，或是用一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)單的真空烘烤過程。
NOTE: Most models may be backed in vacuum at up to 350℃. Some models may not be baked above 100℃. For information concerning temperature limitations, refer to the installation notes supplied with each ETP Electron Multipliers.
注意：大多數(shù)(零件)模塊可以在真空下(烘烤)到350℃。一些(零件)模塊不能烘烤超過100℃。關(guān)于溫度限制的相關(guān)信息請(qǐng)參考每一個(gè)ETP電子倍增器的安裝說明。
If baking must be done in atmosphere, the temperature must be limited to 120℃ (or lower than 100℃ for some models – see Note above). The multiplier should be heated and cooled slowly to avoid damage due to thermal shock.
如果烘烤要在正常大氣壓下，溫度必須限制在120℃之內(nèi)(或者一些零件模塊要低于100℃-看上面的注意事項(xiàng))。倍增器應(yīng)該緩慢地加熱和冷卻以避免由于熱沖擊(溫度激增)而損壞。
The rugged design of ETP Electron Multipliers reduces the risk of damage during handling, however, an electron multiplier is a precision component, and all reasonable care should be used when installing or removing.
ETP電子倍增器高低不平的(表面)設(shè)計(jì)減少了(手)操作期間受損的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)，無論如何，電子倍增器是個(gè)精密的部件，當(dāng)安裝和拆除時(shí)都應(yīng)該盡可能地小心。
